TCAP ended today for most Tennessee elementary and middle school students, and with so much emphasis on testing they must be relieved. The people that are scared are their teachers. I cannot wait to be a teacher, but those tests scare me. I can be fired if my students don't test well? That doesn't seem totally fair to me.I agree wholeheartedly that we as teachers need to be held accountable for what our students learn, but jeez. In my observations at schools there is so much emphasis on testing that we have lost our fire. There isn't much passion anymore, and the students are suffering. School is so boring because not many teachers are willing to believe that they can teach all of the standards in a fun way, and by doing so the students will, get this, ACTUALLY LEARN. Call me crazy, but I think it can be done.
